Translating an Internet App into Japanese インターネットアプリの日本語バージョン作成やってみました！
This all began when my flickr/twitter/facebook and now a posterous friend Martin Menu of France tweeted that he really likes this simple software for sign ups. Why the heck someone like me got involved in such a proudly geeky endeavor, goes something like this:
I checked out the said app "SingApp Now," really liked it, and wished it were in Japanese, tweeted to him thusly; Martin tweeted back, why not tell that directly to Milo Felipe, the software developer in Philippines who created the software? I did exactly that, contacted him via Twitter, and Milo thanked me for the interest and asked me to help translate it into Japanese.

I was one of those who had to invite and count heads for meetings and gatherings quite often when I was active with JCI (Junior Chamber International). We used to use Excel attachments, but the organizer had to copy & paste from each responses... way too tedious! Tried GoogleDocs, but gmail is not as prevalent in Japan so people were receiving messages from Google in English, and had to register in order to see the doc. Still tedious... How simple and easy now with SignApp Now!

なぜ決して技術系ではないワタクシメがアプリの日本語バージョン作成に関わったのか？これにはストーリーがありまして。。。
Ｆｌｉｃｋｒ／Ｔｗｉｔｔｅｒ／Ｆａｃｅｂｏｏｋそして最近ではposterous でｆｒｉｅｎｄであるフランスのＭａｒｔｉｎ Ｍｅｎｕ氏がＴｗｉｔｔｅｒでお気に入りだとつぶやいていた、「サインアップナウ」アプリも私もチェック入れてみたら、これがなかなか良いではないの！早速「これいいね〜、日本語バージョンとかあればもっと良いのに〜」というような内容でつぶやき返信したら、「ソフト開発者本人にその通り伝えたら？フィリピンのＭｉｌｏ Ｆｅｌｉｐｅっていう人」ですと。ふむ、そうですね。Ｍａｒｔｉｎの提案どおりＦｅｌｉｐｅにＴｗｉｔｔｅｒ を通じて連絡。そしたら「アプリを気に入ってくれてありがとう、良ければ日本語バージョン作成に協力してくれませんか？」と来た。快く引き受け、現在ベータテスト中。何だかワクワクしてます♪
青年会議所での現役メンバー時代に会議やセミナー、宴会・パーティーの出欠を取る面倒に苦労した私は、これだとかなり簡単に出欠簿ができて、感激。エクセルだと全員分コピペする面倒があり、ＧｏｏｇｌｅＤｏｃｓは登録する手間と、英語でＭＬにメッセージが送られ、これもまた面倒。日本でも幹事さんに楽してもらえればと思い、日本語バージョンを作ってみました。
お気づきの点、より良い日本語表記や表現などのご提案など、ご教示くださいませ！
